Breeding

 The family at the farm of Austvaðsholt has been breeding horses for many years. Every year in the end of may and in june we have around five foals. Our mares are natural töltörs and with a nice temperment. Some of theme have first prize, f.x. Platína frá Austvaðsholti, the daughter of Platon frá Sauðakróki. Most of our horses are related to Platon. We do have sometimes horses for sale. If you are interested to buy an icelandic horse, you are welcome to come and stay with us on the farm, get to know the horses and their relatives. You can see where they grew up and live in the big meadows with the best view of Hekla and the river Rangá. We have been using many good stallions, f.x Platon frá Sauðakróki, Kjarkur frá Egilstaðabæ, Kappi frá Austvaðsholti, Huginn frá Haga and many others.
